Dubbed Chameleon, the tune marks the first piece of new original music from Nick Littlemore’s other band since their 2011 album Soft Universes, and their first major release since 2012’s Elton John remix album Good Morning To The Night. The track features vocals from Shakira Marshall, previously a dancer and back-up singer for Ms. Lauryn Hill, who also releases music under her alter-ego Kira Divine. And you'll be hearing a lot more of her on PNAU's new music. "She's actually singing on a couple of songs on our album, so partially she was the inspiration for this because her voice - we love it and it's very different to every other voice we've worked with." Speaking to the interns about the difference between Empire Of The Sun and Pnau recently, Littlemore explained that, “Pnau has always been more bonkers”. “Pnau have a new single coming out soon called Chameleon which kind of carries on the bonkers nature of us,” he said at the time. Premiered on triple j Good Nights, the colourful 'Chameleon' is the group's first new music since 2012's collaborative album with Elton John, Good Morning To The Night, and Peter Mayes told Linda Marigliano that it's got a pretty obvious purpose. Catch the “bonkers” half-schoolyard singalong, half-tribal dancefloor toe-tapper of a new track that is Chameleon, below. No word on yet whether a new album could follow, but we’ll keep you posted. Together they're cooking up PNAU's fifth studio album, and Peter is hoping it'll better 2011's Soft Universe. "We hated our last record! Not the one we did with Elton John but the last PNAU record. It just didn't… I don't know, no-one else liked it and it was just us trying to be something else. It wasn't really what we normally do: it wasn't a party, festival record." Meanwhile, Littlemore’s new album with Empire Of The Sun Two Vines is also out today, ahead of Empire playing their first Aussie shows in support of the record at FOMO Festival at the beginning of next year.

Song Lyrics:

[Chorus: Kira Divine]
Alright
Let go, before I get gold
Gold, go-o-old
Chameleon
Keeps me a bit gold
Come on
Chameleon

The pyramid
Tells me I said so
Oh, oh, o-o-o-o-oh
Chameleon
Keeps me a bit gold
Oh, oh
Chameleon

We could rock away
Leading, walk away
Do you understand?
Do you know what I say?

We could rock away
Leading, walk away
Do you understand?
Do you know what I say?

Come through the flicker of the sun with me
Hanging out
Come to the center of the sun with me
Saying "we could rock with our rhythm wise"
We could rock with our rhythm wise
We could rock with our rhythm wise
We could rock (rock, rock)

[:: BRIDGE ::]
Ah, hey
Footsteps knocking to make sure
Knocking, knocking, knocking
Banging loud
Ah, hey
Footsteps knocking to make sure
Knocking, knocking, knocking
On the floor

[:: CHORUS ::]
Alright
Let go, before I get gold
Gold, go-o-old
Chameleon
Keeps me a bit gold
Come on
Chameleon

The pyramid
Tells me I said so
Oh, oh, o-o-o-o-oh
Chameleon
Keeps me a bit gold
Come on
Chameleon

Yeah!
Oh, oh, oh
Yeah
Oh, oh, oh

Come through the flicker of the sun with me
Hanging out
Come to the center of the sun with me
Saying "we could rock with our rhythm wise"
We could rock with our rhythm wise
We could rock with our rhythm wise
We could rock (rock, rock)

We could rock away
Leading, walk away
Do you understand?
Do you know what I say?

We could rock away
Leading, walk away
Do you understand?

Yeah!
Oh, oh, oh
Yeah!
